Parent and Carer Forums
What is the Parent and Carer Forum?
The Parent and Carer Forum is a partnership between parents and the school. It is a valuable way to share ideas and make suggestions for improvement.
The aims of the Forum will be to:
- work together to improve the service provided for our children
- share information, knowledge and skills
- meet in a mutually supportive environment
- further improve communications between parent/carers and staff/governors
Who can be part of the Forum?
Any parent or carer of children currently at Burlington Junior School is welcome to join any Forum meeting. The forum will be chaired by Mr West; at times, other members of the school community will also attend the meetings depending on the agenda items and what the school feels they would like to share with parents, such as new initiatives.
Why should I be part of the Forum?
It gives you an opportunity to get together with other parents and carers to have your say on what the school is doing well, and suggest ideas of how things could be improved.
How often will the Forum meet?
We hold these meetings on a termly basis, on Fridays at 9:00am.
What will be discussed at the meetings?
Anything related to improving the school and further developing the partnership between the school and parents and carers. The meetings will be informal and are an opportunity for an open discussion. Minutes of the meetings will be taken and these will be accessible at the bottom of this page.
It is important to understand that this is not the forum to discuss concerns or complaints involving individual children, families or members of staff. These should be initially addressed by talking to your child's class teacher.
How can I raise an issue?
We will send a google form out before each meeting giving people the chance to submit questions or issues for discussion.
